“We’re in a stronger place today as a nation, with more tools—like vaccination, boosters, and treatments—to protect ourselves, and our communities, from severe illness from COVID-19,” said Greta Massetti, PhD, MPH, MMWR author. “We also have a better understanding of how to protect people from being exposed to the virus, like wearing high-quality masks, testing, and improved ventilation. This guidance acknowledges that the pandemic is not over, but also helps us move to a point where COVID-19 no longer severely disrupts our daily lives.”

SYNOD ASSEMBLY 2022 COVID PROTOCOL
All participants at the Synod’s Pre-Assembly and Assembly gatherings Oct. 20-22, 2022, must be fully vaccinated and wear a high-quality surgical grade mask during the gathering.
Surgical grade masks and COVID tests will be available at the registration table.
Prior to your arrival at the gathering, all participants should take a COVID- 19 home test.
Prior to your arrival at the gathering, all participants should complete a Health and Wellness Survey and Pledge.
Masks will be worn throughout the meeting, except for meals.
Participants will be asked to self-monitor and notify a health ambassador if they develop a positive COVID test at any point during the gathering. Any individual with a positive COVID test result will be expected to be isolated in their room and seek the guidance of a medical professional.
Designated Health Ambassadors will collect information about possible exposures to share with the larger group.
Any individuals who choose not to comply with these protocols will not be admitted to Synod Assembly.
I have read and understand the Synod's Health and Wellness Protocols for the 2022 Pre- Assembly and Assembly Gathering.
I understand that contracting COVID-19 remains a risk, and that some cases can result in severe illness and even death. I understand that I am making a personal choice to participate in this meeting despite any potential risk.
I acknowledge that the Health and Wellness Protocols put in place by the Synod are designed to mitigate the risk associated with attendance but that they do not eliminate the risk of contracting COVID-19.
Therefore, I pledge that I will to the best of my ability follow the guidelines, by wearing a mask throughout the meeting, practicing good hygiene, self-monitoring and testing.
If I develop a positive test during the gathering, I pledge to report the result to a Health Ambassador so that others can be made aware of potential exposure, and pledge to seek out the care of a medical professional.
