Investing in Leaders: New Synod Grant Opportunities Coming Soon

The Synod of the Northeast is renewing its commitment to investing in the leaders who shape the life of the Church—today and for generations to come.

The Synod of the Northeast is renewing its commitment to investing in the leaders who shape the life of the Church—today and for generations to come. With a Spirit-led vision for growth and vitality, two grants are being lifted to support those called to lead: the Mary Wallingford Trust Grant and the Presby & Langdon Scholarship Fund Grant.

Together, these opportunities reflect a shared belief: when we invest in leaders, we invest in the future of the Church.

The Presby & Langdon Scholarship Fund Grant supports those actively engaged in youth ministry by providing up to $500 for conferences, leadership training, and continuing education.

Whether serving as volunteers, educators, or coordinators, youth leaders play a vital role in nurturing faith in the next generation—often with limited resources. This grant helps make meaningful training opportunities accessible, strengthening both leaders and the young people they serve.

The Mary Wallingford Trust Grant offers up to $500 to Presbyterian congregations with 150 or fewer members to support leadership development for pastors and lay leaders.

Funds may be used for continuing education, workshops, retreats, or bringing experienced leaders into the congregation. By reducing financial barriers, this grant helps foster renewed energy, creativity, and congregational vitality.

These grants are more than financial support—they are an investment in people,” said Synod leadership. “When we equip those who lead, we strengthen the entire body of Christ and create space for new life and new possibilities to emerge.” Leaders and congregations are encouraged to prayerfully consider how these opportunities might support their ministry. Additional information, including application details, will be available through the Synod of the Northeast website.
