Presbytery Collaboration Support Grants
The Synod of the Northeast is dedicated to empowering presbyteries in realizing their vision for mission and ministry. The Presbytery Collaboration Support Grant is designed to cultivate mission-driven partnerships and long-term sustainability.
This grant assists presbyteries in discerning how best to live out their call and witness. As the church navigates changing realities, the grant encourages presbyteries to act with courage and creativity—strengthening relationships, sharing resources, and forging new paths for sustainable and faithful witness.
The Presbytery Collaboration Support Grant is need-based and offers financial support to presbyteries lacking sufficient resources. Rather than funding specific projects, this grant supports discernment regarding a presbytery’s—or presbyteries’—future. In the application, presbyteries may identify a second presbytery as a joint applicant; all fields and questions must be completed by both parties.
Eligibility Criteria
The Presbytery Collaboration Support Grant is available to presbyteries that contribute to Per Capita and have the approval of their assembled body for the discernment process.
Presbyteries not currently participating in Per Capita or its equivalent mission donation to the Synod should contact the Synod for assistance in developing eligibility. We are committed to offering guidance, support, and recommendations to help you move toward eligibility and participation in this important and transformative work.
Awardees will be assigned a Synod liaison to support their efforts. The liaison will attend at least one presbytery meeting annually and be available to accompany presbyteries as they pursue their mission objectives. This essential partnership will strengthen the likelihood of achieving future funding goals.
Awardees are required to submit a progress report after each year of funding and before applying for a second year.
Awards and Timeline
Eligible presbyteries may be awarded up to $45K for up to two years.
