Campus Ministries and Youth and Young Adult Leadership Development Grants Open October 15th
Some of the most important ministry happening across our Synod is taking place with people who are still discovering what faith, leadership, and Christian community can mean in their lives. This fall, we want to help more of those ministries grow.
On October 15, the Synod of the Northeast will open applications for two grants specifically designed to invest in ministry with students, youth, and young adults: the Campus Ministry Grant and the Youth and Young Adult Leadership Development Grant.
The Campus Ministry Grant supports ministries reaching students in colleges and universities throughout our region. Campus ministry can create sacred spaces of welcome and belonging, provide opportunities for spiritual exploration, and help students discover connections between faith and the questions, pressures, relationships, and decisions shaping their lives.
The Youth and Young Adult Leadership Development Grant invests in opportunities that equip youth and young adults to discover their gifts, deepen their faith, and grow as leaders within the church and beyond it. Leadership development can take many forms—from retreats and training experiences to mentoring, service, worship leadership, community engagement, and new approaches we have not yet imagined.
As we prepare for the October 15 opening, we especially encourage congregations, presbyteries, campus ministries, and ministry leaders to begin asking: Where are young people already showing energy, curiosity, compassion, or leadership—and what might become possible if we invested in them?
You don’t need to wait until October to begin dreaming. Start the conversation now. Identify the young people and ministries in your community. Imagine what could grow with additional support. And watch for more information this fall about eligibility, funding, application requirements, and opportunities to learn more.
The next generation of the Church is not simply somewhere in the future. They are already here. Let’s invest in them
