The Innovation Lab Series – November

The Innovation Lab webinar series continues in November with another opportunity to be inspired in your ministry.  The Innovation Lab is the place to be if you are a ministry leader seeking insight for how to reimagine how you engage with your community.  The series features guest speakers and recipients of Synod Grants who embody the Synod’s commitment to Reimagining the Church in the World.  Join us on Tuesday, November 17 at noon on Zoom as we welcome Rev. Dr. Gad Mpoyo, founder of Shalom International Ministry and Eastern Associate for 1001 New Worshiping Communities in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

The Innovation Lab launched on September 15^th with the Rev. Dr. Eustacia Moffett Marshall of New River Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, who led an engaging conversation: “What Is Innovation—and What Does It Mean for Ministry Today?”

Our second gathering took place on October 20th, and featured the Rev. Dr. Debra J. K. Bronkema, Director of New Worshiping Initiatives for Hudson River Presbytery, and the Rev. Karen Hernández-Granzen, Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Trenton, New Jersey, and Board President of the Trenton Microloan Collaborative.  In a panel discussion entitled, “Innovation in Action: Stories from the Field,” these Synod grantees shared how their innovative ministries began, the challenges they encountered and overcame, the lessons they learned, and the unexpected joys they discovered along the way.

On November 17^th, Rev. Dr. Gad Mpoyo will lead a discussion on the topic, “Seeing your Community with New Eyes.”  Through storytelling and group participation attendees will be invited to brainstorm New Ministry Possibilities for their established congregations.
