Introducing the Genesis Center

In 2016 we provided Innovation Funds to the Genesis Center, a center whose mission is to provide churches with current and relevant Christian resources with an understanding of their unique needs and limited budgets.  The Genesis Center was formed three years ago transforming the Presbytery of Monmouth’s Resource Center into a place built on maintaining the personal assistance that an onsite Resource Center Director offers while using emerging technologies to connect pastors, educators, church leaders, and church volunteers to the more than 4,000 books and DVDs in their current collection.

The Innovation Grant from the Synod of the Northeast along with the Presbytery of Monmouth have helped to build a strong foundation for this initiative.  The model for this enterprise is based on:

  • Acquiring and making resources available that you can depend on as appropriate for our theology;

  • The value of a resource consultant just a phone call or an e-mail message away;

  • The ability to either visit their resource library or browse the catalog online; and

  • On providing timely responses to your requests and the delivery of resources to your doorstep.

The Genesis Center invites you to partner with them in this ministry by becoming a member of the Genesis Center.  Take a look at their website which is an integral platform for this ministry.  More than anything, becoming a member means creating a network that connects resources to those called to provide education and nurture for our Christian wellbeing.  Membership entitles churches to borrow available resources, gives churches access to the personal assistance provided by their onsite Resource Director, and it supports this enterprise financially so that it is sustainable and reliable going forward.
