Welcome Lori Hylton!

The Synod is pleased to welcome Ruling Elder Lori Hylton as our new Administrative Coordinator!

The Administrative Coordinator position is the last of the staffing shifts to bring our structure into alignment with the New Way Forward. As a member of the Synod Mission Team, the Administrative Coordinator will provide organizational and logistical support for the work of our Synod, including the coordination of Synod events, support of our Missions and Ministries Commission, and relationships with our presbyteries. We are confident Lori brings the skills and experience we need to support the work of the Synod and continue growing into the future!

Lori Hylton comes to us from the Hudson River Presbytery where she has been serving as Food Justice Advocate since 2013. In that role she acted as a coordinator and educator for food justice concerns. Prior to joining the Hudson River Presbytery, Lori worked as a program officer with Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) on issues of food access for low income communities, and produced a series of community development training webinars on issues related to fresh food access in low income and rural communities.

Lori has an M.A. in Urban Affairs from Hunter College, and received a B.A. in Political Science and Africana Studies from Wellesley College. Lori lives in Nyack, NY with her 11 year old son, Charles Cameron, and is a ruling elder at the Palisades Presbyterian Church.

Lori began her work with the Synod on October 22. Please join us in welcoming her!
