Stony Point Center 75th Anniversary Celebration Weekend

In celebrating Stony Point Center’s past while leaning into the present needs of the social justice and congregational groups who meet here, we are planting the seeds for the future…together.

Anniversary Celebration
Fri, 4/4, 3 pm to Sun, 4/6, 1 pm

Seventy-five years ago, the Gilmor Sloane sisters, faithful Presbyterian pastor’s kids and social justice supporters, gifted their grounds to the Presbyterian Church. The sisters had used their home to host global mission co-workers for gatherings of renewal, sharing, and learning and passed their property on so the work could continue. Let’s commemorate the good works done at this storied retreat center!

Come celebrate, reminisce, get inspired, and equip yourself to be the best help you can be in this time of crisis for so many. We begin with dinner & storytelling/music-making on Friday, continue into Saturday with meditation, the Social Justice Summit, closing with a gala that night. On Sunday, we will worship together & dedicate a new memorial grove, capping it all off with a brunch where it all began…at the Gilmor Sloane House.

During our weekend celebration, we are excited to invite you all into a Social Justice Summit on Saturday where those in active nonprofits will join us for networking and empowerment in this time of great need for social justice action. What better way to celebrate a center (SPC) with a 75 year history of social justice than by engaging social justice empowerment as part of our celebrating the impact of Stony Point Center? You all will be a part of empowering social justice now.

*Freewill donations welcome. Space is limited. Registration required ahead of time. First come, first served.

Virtual participation will be available for portions of the weekend, so you can still be a part of it if we are full for the in-person portion.  Zoom link for 7:30 pm Friday Songs and Stories at the Penguin Rep Theater and 7 PM Anniversary Gala – https://zoom.us/j/97006077836
