How to Become a Sanctuary Community 101 Webinar

What does it mean for a church to offer sanctuary? Since the 1980s churches have been using their space to offer protection and rest to people who are under threat of deportation or other danger because of their immigration status. Now is the time for many more of us to be prepared to offer this kind of gospel hospitality.

Join the Synod of the Northeast and the National Sanctuary Movement for a webinar on Thursday December 15 at 11 am EST. Learn what Sanctuary has been, and what it might look like  after January 20, 2017. Hear from Presbyterian pastors like John Fife and Allison Harrington who have helped start and shape the Sanctuary movement. Learn how your congregation can discern together whether to offer sanctuary and how.

This is the work of Advent. We wait actively for the Prince of Peace who will come to dwell among us. We wait for the one who had to flee his home to Egypt to escape violence. Together, let us prepare ourselves to welcome him.

We look forward to engaging with you.
